Marvin Morgan Turner

Mr. Marvin Morgan Turner age 91, of Franklin, Kentucky, died peacefully Friday, March 27, 2020 at 5:40 PM at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY., surrounded by his wife and children.  He was born October 17, 1928 in Simpson County, KY.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Ann (Hendricks) Turner, his three children, Kathy Turner (Ed) Henderson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Jeff Turner of Buchanan, Michigan, and Marcie Turner of Nashville, Tennessee.  He has five grandchildren, Andrew Wedding (Jenilee) of Sewanee, Georgia; William (Megan) Wedding of Clarksville, Tennessee; John Leslie Biggs and Eric Biggs of Franklin, Kentucky and Madalyn Grace Biggs of Lexington, Kentucky.  Four great grandchildren, Carlee, Emma Kate, Blake and Mary Reese Wedding and many beloved nieces and nephews as well as his loving cat, Lucky.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Bessie Lee (Grayson) Turner and four brothers James, Doug, Melvin and Rudy Turner.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church for several years.

Marvin separated from the United States Army as Staff Sergeant after his honorable service during the Korean War.  He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW of Franklin. He retired from the Kendall Company after 36 years and embarked on a long post retirement period of golfing and early morning coffee drinking with his buddies.

Due to the current times, service will be for immediate family only with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.  A future memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home, Franklin, KY.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are to be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY.  42104.
