Obituary

Mr. Lawrence Dale Byrum, age 79 of Franklin, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022 at 6:04 PM at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, May 6th, 2022 and from 6:00 AM until service time Saturday, May 7th, 2022 at Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory.  Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at funeral home with burial to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson Co., KY.

Lawrence was born April 27, 1943 in Franklin, KY. to the late Henry Luther “Cap” Byrum and the late Rebecca Elizabeth (Jones) Byrum. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Marilyn Moore, Russell Byrum and Wayne Byrum.

He is survived by his 4 children, Terrie Switzer of Russellville, KY, Lisa Stinson (Kevin) of Franklin, KY, James Byrum (Con) of Franklin, KY, Mark Byrum (Danielle) of Franklin, KY, 7 grandchildren, Joe Law, Amanda Grace, Cody Stinson, Bailey Clinard, Ashley Byrum, Tyler Byrum, Ben Byrum, 7 great grandchildren, a sister, Barbara L. Johnson (Aubrey) of Bowling Green, KY.

Lawrence was a member of the Franklin Church of God.  He retired from the Kendall Company after 35 years.  He loved his dogs and playing golf.
