James Henry Turner
September 17, 1942 ~ October 6, 2023 (age 81) 81 Years Old
Mr. James Henry Turner, age 81, of Franklin, KY, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 6, 2023, after courageously fighting a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 10th at 10:00 AM with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.
James Henry was born on September 17, 1942 in Franklin, KY to the late Lee Turner and the late Jenny Alice (Ford) Turner. He is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, John Lewis Turner and Billy Lee Turner; and an aunt, Jimmie Ford Davidson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Becky Turner; 2 sons, Brian Turner of Panama City Beach, FL and Kevin Turner (Melisha) of Franklin, KY; 1 grandson, Kolton Turner of Franklin, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
James Henry was a 1962 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School and a member of Liberty General Baptist Church. He was a former chairman of the board of Simpson County Schools. James Henry retired from Dana Corporation and also worked for many years at the Kendall Company.
His wife Becky was the primary caregiver during the final months of his illness. The family would also like to thank Ambi Bryant, Caring With A Smile Home Care and Hosparus Health for the love and care provided to James Henry.
James Henry loved his UK basketball, fishing, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.
