Herston Wayne Humphrey

Mr. Herston Wayne Humphrey, age 79 of Franklin, KY, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 5:55 PM at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Visitation will continue on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 1:00 PM with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Wayne was born on August 29, 1943 in Warren County, KY to the late, John Carson "Dick" Humphrey and the late, Mattie Nell (Perring) Humphrey.  He is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Margie Dobbs Humphrey and a sister, Jo Linda Cassetty.

He is survived by 2 children, Randy Humphrey (Lisa) of Lexington, KY and Trina Eaton (Michael Ford) of Franklin, KY; 4 grandchildren, Moranda Butcher (Steve), Clay Humphrey, Tori Killen (Nathan) and Olivia Crafton (Austin); 8 great-grandchildren, Caiden Humphrey, Connor Graves, Maggie Graves, Brantley Suddarth, Hattie Crafton, Annie Mai Killen, Scout Killen and Fitz Killen; 2 brothers, Leon Humphrey and Tommy Humphrey, both of Franklin, KY.

Wayne was a 1961 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School.  He was retired from Sealed Power Manufacturing.  Wayne enjoyed fast cars, farming, socializing with his friends and vacationing with his family in Daytona Beach, FL. 

In lieu of flowers, expressions may be made to the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104.  Envelopes will be provided by the funeral home.
