Helga R. Forshee

Helga R. Forshee, age 87, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Wednesday, September 30th, 2020, at 12:33 PM at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home, Franklin, KY.  Visitation will be Friday, October 2nd, 2020 from 10:00 AM until funeral service time at Gilbert Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, October 2nd, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Helga was born on August 22nd, 1933 in Bresslau, Germany to the late Herman Guhr and the late Suzanne Rosner Guhr.  She is also preceded in death by her spouse and companion of 21 years, Carl LeBleu; her first husband, Eddie B. Forshee, Jr.; 2 children, Barbara Kuchta and Joe Leslie Forshee; 2 sisters, Erica Guhr and Rita Zettlemoyer; and 1 brother, Gunther Guhr.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Kathy Shelton (Greg) of Franklin, KY, Debbie Hudson (William) of Franklin, KY, Monika Thacker of Franklin, KY and Nancy McDonald (David) of Woodburn, KY; 8 grandchildren, Stephanie McMillin, Sara Cassetty, Terry K. Thomas, Sean Johnson, Joey Hudson, Jennie Kinnaird, Nicole Ebelhar, Jamie Brown; 13 great-grandchildren, Zack Thomas, Parker McMillin, Johnathon Cassetty, Michael Cassetty, Colin McCormick, Abby Thomas, Cooper Johnson, Cru Johnson, Boone Kinnaird, Bohdi Kinnaird, Ada Blake Ebelhar, Delaney Ebelhar and Ellie Neal Brown; 2 great-great grandchildren, Kynlee Cassetty and Hayden Cassetty; 1 sister, Helena Way of Lawton, Oklahoma; 1 nephew, Dr. Steffan Guhr; and 2 nieces.

Helga was retired from the Kendall Company and Cracker Barrel.  She was a member of the DAV and the American Legion Ladies Auxillary, Post #62.  Helga loved to travel.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are to be made to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Helga Forshee.
