Charles Wayne Stinson

Mr. Charles Wayne Stinson, age 85, of Franklin, KY, passed away, Sunday, January 12th, 2020 at 2:59 AM at The Medical Center of Bowling Green, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday, January 14th 2020, at Gilbert Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 13th, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, January 14th, 2020, from 6:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM.

Charles was born February 17th, 1934 in Franklin, KY. to the late William Eddie Stinson and the late Bettie James Stinson.  He is preceded in death by 6 sisters, Louise Herrington, Katherine Hicks, Maybelle Finn, Wilma Deweese, Betty Carol Livingston and Lois Clell Stinson and 2 brothers, Robert G.D. Stinson and William E. Stinson, Jr.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Betty Duff Stinson of 46 years; 3 children, a son, Charles Herbie Stinson (Rita) of Franklin, Ky., a son, Kevin Neal Stinson (Lisa) of Franklin, Ky., a daughter, Macteene C. Bernarte (Robert) of Franklin, Ky.; 1 grandson, Cody Aaron Stinson of Franklin, Ky.; 2 brothers, Paul Stinson and Johnny Stinson; and several nieces and nephews.

Charles attended Blackjack Baptist Church.  He loved fishing, golfing, bowling and UK basketball.  Charles was a skilled carpenter and had built homes for multiple family members.
