William Estell "Gilbert" Ranburger

Mr. William “Gilbert” Ranburger, age 82 of Franklin, KY, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Masonic Rights will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 6:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 15, 2025 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Gilbert was born March 16, 1943 in Owensboro, KY to the late John Ranburger and the late Geneive (Sosh) Ranburger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ophelia Henson Ranburger; 6 siblings, Jackie Ranburger, Larry Ranburger, Dean Ranburger, Wilma Gass, Dorothy Johnson Gregory and Ida Ranburger Johns.

He is survived by 3 children, Teresa Dyer (Don) of Woodburn, KY, Tamara Eadens (Paul) of Franklin, KY and Trent Ranburger of Lucas, KY; 7 grandchildren, Justin Dyer (Jaimie), Jacob Dyer (Kati Dinkens), Jenna Jones (Dylan), Taylor Gomer, Alex Eadens (Madi), Jazmine Anderson and Jaxson Ranburger; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 2 siblings, John Ranburger (Debbie) of Franklin, KY and Brenda Graves (David) of Franklin, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

Gilbert was a 1961 graduate of the Franklin-Simpson High School. He was a plant manager at Sunbeam Manufacturing. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing golf, traveling with his Brother Masons to different lodges, having breakfast with his high school class every month and dining with his former colleagues at Potter & Brumfield. He mostly loved cooking dinner with his family every week.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to New Salem Lodge #462, Attn, Larry Chaney, 315 Oakridge Lane, Franklin, KY 42134. Envelopes will be provided at the Funeral Home.
