Virginia Louise Baker, a beloved member of the Franklin, Kentucky community, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the age of 95. Born in Adairville, Kentucky, Virginia was a cherished daughter of the late Lawrence Gregory and Ethel Cleo (Rogers) Gregory.
Throughout her life, Virginia dedicated herself to her family and her passions. Self-employed as a caregiver, she touched many lives with her nurturing spirit and unwavering support. When she wasn’t tending to others, Virginia found joy in working in her flower and vegetable gardens, reflecting her love for nature’s beauty. She also held a deep love for reading and participating in square dancing, sharing laughter and happiness with friends and family.
Her church community at Trinity Baptist Church in Franklin, KY, was a vital part of her life. Virginia was deeply involved with her church family, initiating a toy store at the church to bring joy to local children. Her contributions were as abundant as the smiles she inspired.
Virginia is survived by her devoted children, Nancy Martin (Garry) of Franklin, KY, Diane Anderson of Auburn, KY, Glenn Brady (Pat) of Franklin, KY, Debbie Sisco (Donald) of Franklin, KY, and Linda Gail Gass (DeWayne) of Franklin, KY. Her legacy continues through 14 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren, alongside several cherished nieces and nephews.
She is now reunited with her late parents, Lawrence and Ethel Gregory, and her siblings, Mary Campbell, Margaret Carnahan, T.J. Gregory, Homer Gregory, and Annie Mae Poteet.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory, Franklin, KY, on Thursday, July 9th, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Friday, July 10th from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral service honoring Virginia’s life will follow on July 10th at 1:00 pm at the same location with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brian Anderson, Andrew Sisco, Wayne Mallard, John Brown, Ty Killen, and Garrett Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Blake Mallard, Owen Mallard, Paxton Williams, and Blake Sisco.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 610 Lemon Street, Franklin, KY 42134, to continue Virginia's passion for community and charity. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
