Mr. Virgil Wallace Kitchens, age 76, of Chicago, IL., formerly of Franklin, KY., died Monday, October 6, 2008 in Chicago, IL.
A native of Simpson Co., KY., he was the son of the late Clarence Virgil Kitchens and the late Ollie P. Woodall Kitchens. He is preceded in death by a son Wallace Kitchens, 2 brothers Robert Kitchens and Glen Kitchens and a sister Mittie Henson.
He is survived by his wife Margarite Purdue Kitchens of Chicago, IL.; 4 Daughters: Frances (Willie) Dillihay of Franklin, KY., Wanna Faye (Dale) Boyd of Portland, TN., Pamela Kitchens of Hoopeston, IL. and Brenda (Joe) Cannon Potomac, IL.; 3 Sons: David Bruce (Carol) Kitchens of Hammond, IN., Michael Kitchens and Timothy Kitchens both of Chicago, IL.; 2 step-daughters Sylvia Chirillo of Chicago, IL.and Karen McDowell of Portland, TN. and a step-son Darrell Dixon of Portland, TN.; 4 Sisters: Gladys (Donald) Wilson, Susan Gunter and Helen (Paul) Bilbrey all of Scottsville, KY. and Martha (Bill) Stinson of Franklin, KY.; 2 Brothers: Raymond Kitchens of Franklin, KY. and Tom Kitchens of Austin, TX.; 22 Grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren.
Mr. Kitchens was a member of the Westlawn Baptist Church that he loved, as well as fishing and his work as a machine operator.
