Troy Johnson, age 58, of Franklin, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, March 13th, 2021 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was born on September 3rd, 1962 in Franklin, Kentucky to the late Harry Ross “Jot” Johnson and Helen Hudson Johnson of Franklin, Kentucky who survives.
Also surviving is one brother, Timothy Johnson (Megan); one sister, Denise McGlothlin; a nephew, Ross McGlothlin; a niece Abbie McGlothlin; a great-niece, Izabella McGlothlin; a great-nephew Angel McGlothlin-Hazel, all of Franklin, Kentucky. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David McGlothlin.
Mr. Johnson was a 1980 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School. He then attended the University of Kentucky where he majored in chemical engineering, after which, he worked at Quad Graphics as a Master Pressman for over 30 years. He was a proud Kentucky Colonel and supporter of the NRA.
Troy spent his past time bowling, working in his garden, and attending concave conventions. Since retiring he has been a member of the Simpson County Historical Society. He was a lover of music, flowers, roller coasters, Saints football, and Predators hockey.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 16th, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with William Sanford officiating; burial will follow at Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Timothy Johnson, Ross McGlothlin, Michael Hudson, Todd Cassitty, James Henry Snider and Justin Hazel.
