Terry was born February 6, 1944 in Harlan Crosslands, Monroe County, KY to the late Otto Hale and the late Buelah Hale, formerly of South Union, KY.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Wanda Goodrum Hale; three children, Hollie Donze (Dave) of Baton Rouge, LA, Terri Lynn Rogers (Tim) of Goodlettsville, TN and Brad Hale (Brandy) of Franklin, KY; four grandchildren, Daniel Donze, Zachary Donze, and Sophia Donze all of Baton Rouge, LA and Cooper Hale of Franklin, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Terry was a 1962 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School. He attended Western Kentucky University from 1962-1967 and graduated with a Master's Degree in Industrial Education. He taught in Bowling Green City Schools, Hardin County Schools and Simpson County Schools and retired after 27 years. His students (under his leadership) built and raced remote control cars and pulling mini tractors. His love of wood working, small engine repairs, and welding encouraged many young people to pursue careers involving these skills. After retirement, he opened a business, T&W Enterprise where he mowed yards. He also repaired lawn mowers for many years at Village Hardware.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Franklin, KY, serving as a deacon, trustee, bus driver, and was co-treasurer with wife, Wanda for 10 years. He loved the Lord and looked for ways to help others including building handicapped ramps and the platform that supported the Living Christmas Tree. Until recently, he was an active member of Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief, Gideons International, Logan County Tractor Pullers (owning and showing several antique tractors), Southern Kentucky Antique Car Club (owning and showing corvairs), Habitat for Humanity and Train Collectors of America.
Terry was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, raising and sharing his garden produce and showing his grandkids how to live and enjoy country life. He loved collecting knives and his love for toy trains could not be contained, finally occupying several rooms.
