Sylvia Jean Thacker

Mrs. Sylvia Jean Thacker, age 81 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 5:30 AM at her residence.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Schochoh Church of Christ in Logan Co., KY. with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

A native of Logan Co., KY., she was the daughter of the late William Albert Turner and the late Louise Campbell Turner.  She was preceded in death by her son Jeff Thacker and her daughter Elizabeth Carol Thacker.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Alfred ”Al” Thacker, a son Al Thacker, Jr. (Angela),  2 daughters Karen Thacker all of Franklin, KY. and Bonnie Wimpee (Gus) of Adairville, KY.; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Mrs. Thacker she was a homemaker and a member of the Franklin Church of Christ.  The family Matriarch was our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, friend, counselor and tough.  A fighter with style and grace, hardworking, stern, beautiful, talented and wise.  Devoted to her husband, family, church, friends and pets.

Visitation will begin Monday, October 23, 2017 at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM until 8:00 AM Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home.  The body will lie in state at the church at 9:00 AM until funeral service time.
