It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Stanley Wayne Burysek, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Stanley passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12th, 2026 at the age of 91, at his home.
Stanley was born on August 17th, 1934, in Portland, TN, where he spent his entire life dedicated to his family and his passion for farming. A self-employed farmer, Stanley was known for his tireless work ethic and his love for the land. He took great pride in restoring Farmall tractors and could often be found enjoying a cigar in his shed, reflecting on a life well lived.
Stanley attended Immanuel Baptist Church as a child. Later on he and his family attended Franklin Presbyterian Church for many years.
Stanley served his country with honor in the United States Army, a testament to his commitment and dedication to service.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Rita Jackson Burysek, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. Together, they raised a loving family, including three daughters, Phyllis Madsen (Jeff) of Cottontown, TN, Karen Faulkner (Chuck) of Cross Plains, TN, and Sharon Burysek of Goodlettsville, TN and their son, Doug Burysek of Portland, TN. Stanley was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Jenna (Christian) Butner, Mackenzie (Harrison) Zeitlin, Paige (Bryson) Shaw, Shelby (Brett) Guenther , Mallory Burysek, Macy (Kurt) Oliver, Will (Hailey) Faulkner and Allie Burysek. He also leaves behind several great-grandchildren who will grow up hearing stories of his humor and his kindness.
In addition to his family, Stanley leaves behind lifelong friends, Ricky McCall and Leonard Groves. He is also survived by nephews: David Raupp, Brian Raupp, Kevin Raupp, and Jason Raupp and Danny Burysek, who will continue to treasure the memories and love they shared.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Burysek and Kristy (Hradek) Burysek, his son Joe Burysek, and 13 siblings as well as three special nephews, Shannon Burysek, Channing Burysek, and Bronson Burysek. His family finds comfort in knowing that Stanley is now reunited with those he loved and lost.
Stanley's wishes are to be cremated. The family will be having a graveside service at later date.
