Sarah Elizabeth (Dixon) Mayhew

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Dixon Mayhew, age 73 of Franklin, Ky., entered into rest Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 8:30 PM at her daughter’s residence.

A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.  Cremation was chosen.

A native of Simpson Co. KY., she was the daughter of the late Luther Edward Dixon and the late Elizabeth Lorene Pirtle Dixon.  She was preceded in death by her husband Gary Allen Mayhew.

She is survived by her 3 daughters Betty Warren Rogers (Randy) of Cross Plains, TN., Regina Warren Stephens (William) of Scottsville, KY.  and Elizabeth Warren (Billy Powell) of Franklin, KY.;  3 step-children Tracy Wix (Bobby) and Chris Mayhew (Barbara) all of Scottsville, KY. and Tina Castleberry (Lee) of Franklin, KY.;  a sister Patricia McCoy of Franklin, KY.;  2 brothers Larry Dixon of  Franklin, KY. and Ronnie Dixon of Clarksville, TN.;  14 grandchildren Jonathan Creek, Teri Sanders, Chelsea Rogers, Kurt Creek, Jessica Harvey, Cody Castleberry, Dustin, Matthew and Michael Walker, Craig and Derrek Mitchell, Cody, Bethany and Samantha Mayhew; 17 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Mayhew was a member of the Providence Baptist Church.  She was a former employee of Sullivan’s Dept. Store, a board member of Friends of the Library and Providence Homemakers Club.

Visitation will begin Tuesday at 3:00 PM until service time at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
