Sara Jane Alford

Mrs. Sara Jane Alford, age 62, of Albany, KY., entered into rest Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM at her residence.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 21, 2017 with burial to follow in the Whites Chapel Church Cemetery in Drake, KY.

A native of Simpson Co., KY., she was the daughter of the late Hugh Slack and the late Sally Record Slack.  She was preceded in death by a daughter Susan Elizabeth Tibbs and 2 sisters Betty Groves and Eva Gail Charlton and a brother Danny Hugh Slack.

She is survived by her husband Billy Alford, 2 children Kenneth Alan Roberts (Laura) of Albany, KY. and Timothy Wayne Roberts (Ashley) of Bowling Green, KY., 2 sisters Mary Ann Mendez of Gallatin, TN. and Valerie Slack of Franklin, Ky., a brother Luther Carl Slack of Franklin, KY.,  5 grandchildren Wesley Tibbs (Julie),  Dillon, Mackenzie, and Kendra Ann Roberts and Madison Wingfield and 2 great grandchildren Bayley and Kylein Roberts.

Mrs. Alford was a member of the El Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday, March 20, 2017 and from 6:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
