Ruth Earlene Carpenter

Mrs. Ruth Earlene Carpenter, age 98, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Franklin-Simpson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Franklin, KY.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 6:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Earlene was born on July 9, 1926 in Glasgow, KY to the late Ernest Delk and the late Susan (Button) Delk. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Carpenter; three children, Carolyn Sue Carpenter Gregory, Michael Ray Carpenter & Mark Thomas Carpenter; six siblings, Carlos, Marvin, Wesley, Lloyd, Verta & Ruby; and a great-grandson, Brad Eugene Griffith.

She is survived by 2 children, James Edward "Eddie" Carpenter (Marcia) of Clarksville, IN and Ricky Carpenter (Jana) of Franklin, KY; ten grandchildren, Michael Eugene Carpenter, Rodney Keith Carpenter, Sheri Gregory Harper, Tammy Michelle Griffith, Tracy Carpenter, Vanessa Carpenter, Chris Bueley, Dustin Carpenter, Erin Leslie Summers and Caleb Carpenter; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Earlene was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and took care of her family. Earlene lived her final years in Lewis Manor and Chandler Assisted Living and was loved and cared for by many there.
