Roy Gautier

November 10, 1924 — September 25, 2018

Mr. Roy Gautier, age 93 of Franklin, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Auburn Health Care of Auburn, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 28th, 2018 at the Franklin Church of Christ in Franklin, KY. with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Gautier was born November 10, 1924 in Mitchellville, TN., to the late Harrison “Kid” Gautier and the late Daisy Dawson Gautier.  He was the husband of the late Rebecca Jane Gautier.  One son, John Gautier, one brother, James Gautier and one sister, Ruby Vetter preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughters Ellen Law of Franklin, KY. and Debbe Schmitt (Ty) of Conyers, GA.  Four grandchildren, Paul Law, Jeremy Law, Katie Boyuk, and Taylor Schmitt and four great-grandchildren, Mikala Law, Sydney Hinton, Taylor Hinton, and Bryce Boyuk.

Roy operated his own business, Gautier Seed Co. in the mid 50’s to the 70’s.  He continued work in the farming and fertilizer throughout his life.  He was a big supporter of the Franklin Lion’s Club.  He’s been a long time deacon at the Franklin Church of Christ in Franklin, Ky.  He spearheaded the The Dawson Project at the Franklin Church of Christ.

Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, September 27th, 2018 at the Franklin Church of Christ and 6:00AM until funeral time on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Dawson Project at the Franklin Church of Christ, 270-586-4315.
