Rondal Eugene Miller

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rondal Eugene Miller, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Rondal was born on March 14, 1943, in Macon County, Tennessee, and peacefully passed away on September 21, 2026, at the Franklin-Simpson Nursing & Rehabilitation in Franklin, Kentucky.

Rondal is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carolyn Dillard Miller. Together, they built a beautiful family that includes their two children, Rhonda Moore (James) and Rondel Miller (Michelle), both of Franklin, KY. Rondal was the proud grandfather of Chelsea Groves and Matt Denny, and great-grandfather to Colton Coleman, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Halsell of Sneads Ferry, NC, and brother, Tony Hawkins of Lafayette, TN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Miller, and his mother, Morell (Johnson) Hawkins.

Rondal was a dedicated and skilled machinist, working for 40 years with the Kendall Company, which later became Berry Plastics. His work ethic and love for his craft were evident every day. Outside of work, Rondal cherished his time spent fishing, hunting, and farming.

A funeral service celebrating Rondal's life will be held at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory in Franklin, KY, on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm with interment to follow in Restlawn Memory Garden in Franklin, KY. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitations at Gilbert Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 6:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Dillard, Joe Dillard, Ralph Dillard, Jackie Dillard, Matt Denny, and Wayne Miller. Honorary pallbearers include Wallace Dillard and Jerry Dillard.
