Rebecca Jane Taylor Carr

Rebecca Jane Richardson Taylor Carr, was born on June 12, 1929 at home in Oakville, KY in Logan County to Thurmond and Nell Richardson. Becky married Eli Vincent Taylor, Jr. on April 6, 1947. After Vince’s passing on September 15, 1991, Becky married Joe Carr in January 1996.

Becky is survived by two children, Claudia Jane Lennon (Thomas) and David Vincent Taylor (Pat); six grandchildren - Katie Lennon Stovall (Caleb), Brett Lennon (Erika), Ashley Holder, Justin Taylor (Tina), Chad Taylor (Cheyenne), Paige Cates (Josh); nine great grandchildren; Colin Walls, Dylan Walls, Zach Holder, Brady Lennon, Caitlin Lennon, Emily Lennon, Zoe Taylor, Jase Cates and Eli Cates; brother-in-law, Glenn Taylor; sister-in-law, Evelyn Richardson; 27 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by eight siblings, Henry Richardson (Nina), Mary Neal Young (Wilbur), Robert Richardson (Mozelle), Elizabeth McCarley (John), James Richardson (Evelyn), George Richardson (Marcellia), Wendell Richardson (Sarah), Barbara Wathen (Thomas); brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Peggy Taylor, Joe Billy Taylor (Maxine), Thomas Harris and Betty Taylor.

Becky worked for Dr. Beasley and Rural Electric before going to work for Franklin Electric Plant Board for 34 years where she became known as the “Queen Bee”. Becky was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral services will be held the same day, Saturday, December 13th at 12:00 PM with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Taylor Christian Camp c/o Steve McCarley, 612 Vonda View,  Franklin, KY 42134. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
