Rebecca Jane Gautier

Mrs. Rebecca Jane Gautier, age 86 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 9:11 AM at the Auburn Nursing Facility in Auburn, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 4, 2017 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

A native of Logan Co., KY., she was the daughter of the late John Thomas “J. T.” Rutherford and the late Mary Sue McCarley Rutherford.  She was preceded in death by her son John Gautier and a sister Mary Catherine “Sis” Turner.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years Roy Gautier of Franklin, KY.; 2 daughters Debbe Schmitt (Ty) of Conyers, GA. and Ellen Law of Franklin, KY.; a sister Carol Black (Ronald) of Franklin, KY. and a brother Ronnie Rutherford (Janet) of Russellville. KY.; 4 grandchildren Paul Law (Samantha), Jeremy Law (Sebrina), Katie Boyuk (Brian) and Taylor Schmitt; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gautier was a homemaker and a member of the Franklin Church of Christ.  As a volunteer of the American Red Cross she was instrumental in organizing the Gray Lady program in our local schools.  She was an active member of the Republican party and a poll worker.  Known as a “professional volunteer” to her family, she loved to sing at her church and go camping.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 4, 2017 until funeral service time at Gilbert Funeral Home.
