Raymond E. Kitchens

Mr. Raymond E. Kitchens, age 76, of Franklin, KY, entered into rest Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 10:00 AM at the Medical Center in Franklin, KY.
Arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.
A native of Simpson Co., KY, he was the son of the late Clarence Kitchens and the late Ollie Woodall Kitchens. He was preceded in death by a sister Mittie Elizabeth Henson and brothers Glenn, Robert and Virgil Kitchens.
He is survived by 2 sons Stephen Kitchens (Suzann) of Riddleton, TN. and Ronald Kitchens (Tammy) of Franklin, KY. and daughter Sharon Rose of Bowling Green, KY.;4 sisters Helen Bilbrey, Gladys Wilson and Susan Perry all of Scottsville, KY., Martha Stinson of Franklin, KY. and a brother Thomas Kitchens of Austin, TX.; 7 grandchildren Zachary Kitchens, Sarah Nehasil, Justin Kitchens, Amy Harwood, Erica Green, Jason Smith and Angela Sanchez and several great grandchildren.
Mr. Kitchens was a retired employee of the Simpson County Jail serving 20 years and former employee of the Simpson County Sheriff’s office for 12 years. He attended the Mitchellville General Baptist Church. He loved fishing and enjoyed building steam engines and traveling to steam engine shows.
Visitation will begin Monday, June 20, 2016 at 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM Tuesday until service time at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
