Phillip Hendley Goostree

Mr. Phillip Hendley Goostree, age 76, of Cross Plains, TN, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019 at his residence.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 17, 2019 with burial in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Orlinda, TN.

Phillip was born March 24, 1943 to the late Delmore Goostree and the late Nell Eidson Goostree. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Ann Jernigan

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Goostree, a son, Phillip Goostree Jr. of Cross Plains, TN., a daughter, Kristy Goostree of Cross Plains, TN., grandson, Matthew Phillip Goostree of Cross Plains, TN., granddaughter, Hannah Marie Goostree of Cross Plains, TN., one brother, Jeff Goostree of Cross Plains, TN., three sisters, Kay Stoope of Orlinda, TN., Patricia Austin of Ohio, and Diane Baker of Cross Plains, TN.

Phillip was a member and deacon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Orlinda, TN. He was a life long farmer and worked at Outokumpu for over 25 years. Whenever he had spare time, Phillip loved to go hunting and fishing.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2019 and from 6:00 AM until service time Wednesday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
