Peggy Joyce Smith

Ms. Peggy J. Smith, age 78, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11:45 AM at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2nd, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Visitation will continue on Saturday, Feb. 3rd at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 1:00 PM.

Peggy was born on February 5, 1945 in Nashville, TN to the late Dillard Savage and the late Dovie (York) Savage.  She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Delbert Savage, Robert Savage, Ethel Savage and James Savage; and a granddaughter, Patricia Rose Owings.

She is survived by 5 children, Kathy Faulkner (Chris) of  Lawrenceburg, TN, Sherry Garlit of Franklin, KY, Mitch Crocker of Gallatin, TN, Jackie Ramirez of Franklin, KY and Daniel Smith (Caitlin) of Goodlettsville, TN; 6 grandchildren, Michelle Ross, Krista Huxoll, Amanda Callahan, Anthony Claiborne, Jillian Hannah and Ramon Ramirez; 7 great-grandchildren, Rachel, Butterfly, Ava, Ka’syn, Star, Nova and Koen; 6 siblings, Irene Crouch (Merle) of Searcy, AR, Joann Johnson of Goodlettsville, TN, Emma Van Delsem (Ed) of Coleman, TX, Patsy Locklear (Ed) of Georgetown, TN, David Savage (Brenda) of Buffalo, TX and Barbara Savage of Franklin, KY; many nieces and nephews.

Peggy was retired from the W.E. Stephens Company.  She used to have a vegetable and fruit market years ago in Tennessee.  Peggy liked art and sketching with pencils, also enjoyed flowers and plants, and listening to birds.  She loved a good game of Yahtzee.
