Nancy (Klein) Raines

Mrs. Nancy Raines, age 83, of Franklin, KY, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021 at her residence.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 14th, 2021 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Nancy was born on October 23, 1937 in Trenton, NJ to the late John Klein and the late Gladys Bain Klein.  She is also preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Lloyd Raines; 1 sister, Joan Phares; 2 daughters, Cindy Holmes and Christine Troutt; 1 son, John Raines; and 1 grandson, Jeremiah Watkins.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Cheryl Watkins of Franklin, KY; 7 grandchildren, Nancy, Shane,  Jonathan, Josh, Chad, Racheal, and Tristin; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 1 niece, Linda Onorati; 1 nephew, Wally Phares; and best friends, Brenda Melton and Virginia Graves.

Nancy was a member of Franklin Community Church, where she enjoyed serving and caring for others.  She particularly loved making gift baskets for those that were sick or needed comfort.  She worked at the Kendall Company for 35+ years before retiring in 2003.  Nancy loved her children and grandchildren, feeding and watching her birds and squirrels, summer trips to the Jersey shore, and of course sweet tea.  She touched many with her smiles and selflessness and will be missed dearly.
