Michael Ray Carpenter

Mr. Michael Carpenter, age 63 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 5:00 PM at his residence.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 20, 2017 with burial to follow in the Restlawn Memory Gardens in Simpson Co., KY.

A native of Simpson Co., KY. he was the son of the late James Earl Carpenter and Ruth Earline Delk Carpenter who survives of Franklin, KY.  He was preceded in death by a brother Mark Carpenter and a sister Carolyn Gregory Carpenter.

He is survived by his wife Mary K. Carpenter, 2 children Caness Walton (Isaac) of Bowling Green, KY., and Tracy Carpenter (Michelle) of Franklin, KY., 2 step sons Robert Lee Jones of New Albany, IN. and Larry Wayne Jones (Natalie Suzanne) Martinsville, IN, 2 brothers Eddie Carpenter of Jeffersonville, IN. and Ricky Carpenter of Franklin, KY., 5 grandchildren Patricia and Nathanial Wheeler, Michael E. Carpenter, Brittany and Amber Jarman, 5 step grandchildren Chelesa Lamm, Brandon, Zachary, Benjamin and Lauren Jones.

Mr. Carpenter was a member of Woodburn Baptist Church and was retired from New Mather Metal.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Saturday, August 19, 2017 and from 6:00 AM until funeral service time on Sunday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
