Melinda "Lindy" Ruth Sledge

Mrs. Melinda "Lindy" Ruth Sledge, age 67, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at the Ascension St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, TN.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. A Celebration of Life service will be held the same day, Sunday, December 21st at 3:00 PM. Mrs. Sledge's wishes are to be cremated.

Lindy was born on October 12, 1958 in Akron, OH to the late Bob Murphey and the late Sue (Johnson) Murphey. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Sue Jones.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Daniel Sledge; two children, Jesse Harmon (Virginia) of Alvaton, KY and Hayley Peters (James) of Christiana, TN; four grandchildren, Gabe Harmon, Klint Ellegood, Payton Peters and Jackson Harmon; a brother, Dale Murphey (Jolanda) of Mayfield, KY; a sister, Melissa Turner (Michael) of Wingo, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

Lindy was a member of Franklin Church of Christ in Franklin, KY. She was a retired hairdresser and nurse. Lindy was an avid sports fan with her favorite teams consisting of the Cleveland Guardians, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. She also enjoyed listening to music and mostly spending time with her grandchildren.
