Maxie was a devoted wife and partner to Lester who together built Key Oil company. Key Oil company started as a single gas station in 1962 where they both worked endless hours to make it the company it is today.
Lester may have been the idea person and the relationship builder of the operation, but the success in the business has always been from the true partnership that Maxie embodied in their marriage. Lester so often said all of this would not have been possible without Maxie by his side. Maxie will most importantly, be remembered as a woman of quiet strength, love and dedication to her family.
Maxie’s legacy of love will be remembered and her devotion to her husband Lester of 62 years, her commitment to her children, and her constant attention to her beloved grandchildren.
Maxie had a quiet strength about her and she was a loyal companion and trusted friend. She treasured her travels with so many of her friends over the years and visits and parties at their home. She always made their home a place her family & friends loved to be. Maxie loved a good sunset with a glass of wine in her hand, especially in Naples where she loved. She was a lover of all pets over the years, especially her cats Fred & Ginger that kept her company most recently.
The family would like to thank her caregivers Keesha Matthews, Tierra Gamble, Felicia Humphrey, Carlotta Pollard, & Sherba Price who took such wonderful care of Maxie in recent years.
