Mrs. Mary Katherine Bomar Pope age 86, entered into rest, Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11:53 AM at her residence.
Funeral services are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 2:00 P. M. with burial to follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens in Springfield, TN.
A native of Nashville, TN., she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Bomar II and the late Mildred Victoria Waddle Bomar. She was preceded in death by her husband George Bryant Pope Sr., a daughter Brenda Joyce Pope Bryant and a sister Mackie Lee Singleton.
She is survived by her 2 sons Victor Graham Pope (Cheryl) of Springfield, TN. and George Bryant Pope Jr. (Sharen) of Gallatin, TN., a daughter Miriam Katheryn Hall (Barry) of Franklin, KY.; a brother John Thomas Bomar III (Peggy) of Hendersonville, TN.; 10 grandchildren Tabitha Pope Edge, Matthew Ray Bryant, Celeste Pope Taylor, Serene Pope Hendrix, Melissa Bryant Hayes, George Bryant Pope III, A’lyce Hall Chambers, Daniel Stephen Pope, Lynsey Hall Roberts, Brock Edward Hall and 19 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Pope was a homemaker and a member of the Woodburn Baptist Church.
Visitation will begin Friday, February 26, 2016 at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM until funeral service time at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
