Mrs. Margaret Ann Humphrey, age, 73, of Franklin, KY, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 11:15 AM at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 28, 2020 in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM Friday February 28, 2020 at Gilbert Funeral Home.
Margaret was born July 24, 1946 in Franklin, KY to the late Robert Henry “Bob” Perdue and the late Eva Frances Gentry Perdue Wright.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 52 years, Leon Humphrey, a daughter, LeAnn Downey of Gallatin, TN, 2 grandchildren, Nick Downey of Nashville, TN and Makela Downey of Gallatin, TN, 2 sisters, Bobbie Stark of Cross Plains, TN, Cathy Witt of Franklin, KY, 1 brother, R.H. Perdue of Franklin, KY.
Margaret was a proud, devoted daughter to Bob and Eva Perdue. She grieved their loss and looked forward to a reunion with them in heaven until the moment of her passing. She loved her family fiercely and thought her grandchildren hung the moon. She didn’t suffer fools lightly, but if she was your friend, you had one for life. If she were here, she would give you first-rate lottery advise and would counsel you to work hard, save wisely and--after fighting back the challenges of COPD like a tiger--would tell you to not smoke.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Friends of Goodnight Library, Simpson County Literacy Council, and the Franklin-Simpson Educational Excellence Foundation.
