Louis Wayne Henderson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Thursday, March 12th, 2026, at the age of 75 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green, KY. Born on May 18th, 1950, in Franklin, KY, Louis spent his entire life in the community he cherished.

Louis was a 1968 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School. He farmed the land where he lived, and his commitment to hard work was evident to all who knew him.

He was an active member of the Sons of the American Legion. Louis’s greatest joy came from vacations to the beach, creating adventure for the children, and sharing his hobbies of fishing and baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jennifer Henderson, and their five children: Jim Henderson (Karen) of Franklin, KY; Scott Henderson (Jaime) of Franklin, KY; Amy Elliott (Brent) of Frankfort, KY; Jake Henderson (Mallory) of Alvaton, KY; and Kristi Farhoudi (Rahmeen) of Atlanta, GA. Louis was the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren: Jordan Henderson, Rachel Harvey, Zach Henderson, Hannah Payne, Leah Henderson, Kenzie Henderson, Sam Elliott, Nora Elliott, Ellis Henderson, Mallie Henderson, and Laila Farhoudi; and five great-grandchildren: Sam, Everly, Sutton, Karley, and Renlee. He is also survived by his brothers, Micheal Henderson and Jeff Henderson (Michelle), and his sister, Brenda Brown, all of Franklin, KY, along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel Louis Henderson and Norma Joyce (Finn) Henderson, and his brother, Rickey Henderson.

A visitation will be held at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory in Franklin, KY, on Saturday, March 14th, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the same location. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 15th, 2026 at 1:00 pm with interment to follow in Blackjack Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.

Pallbearers honoring Louis's life include Jim Henderson, Scott Henderson, Jake Henderson, Jordan Henderson, Zach Henderson, Sam Elliott, Eric Henderson, Josh Henderson, and Andrew Henderson.
