Lois Deanie (Gardner) Herndon

Mrs. Lois “Deanie” Herndon, age 78, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at 4:55 AM at the Hopkins Center in Woodburn, KY.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29th, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will continue on Friday, December 30th, from 6:00 AM until funeral service time. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30th at 2:00 PM with interment to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Deanie was born on December 21st, 1944 in Nashville, TN to the late Harry Amos Gardner and the late Nora (Clark) Gardner. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Herndon and 2 brothers, Fred Gardner and Dwayne Gardner.

She is survived by 3 children, Jerilyn Hippler (Scott) of Panama City Beach, FL, Mitch Herndon (Marsha) of Nashville, TN, and Annissa Warner (Chris) of Rockfield, KY; 3 grandchildren, Hayley Lawrence (Steven), Brandon Warner, and Barrett Warner; 4 great-grandchildren, Emma, Hayden, Alden and Avery; 1 sister, Elsie Barbee of Springfield, TN; 1 brother, Robert Gardner (Shirley) of Greenville, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

Deanie was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ. She was a retired LPN for Dr. Karen Northern. Deanie was a “Band Mom”, grandmother to the youth group, a Senior Saint, enjoyed cooking, sewing, and catering to others.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Taylor Christian Camp in c/o Franklin Church of Christ 700 S. Main St. Franklin, KY 42134. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
