Lila Jean (Harlan) Drake

Lila Jean Harlan Drake, age 91, formerly of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00 PM at the Bowling Green Nursing & Rehab in Bowling Green, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where a Memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, December 9, 2017.  Cremation was chosen.  A Graveside service will be held at a later date at the Providence Cemetery in Simpson Co., KY.

She was born in Temple Hill, KY. to Bert and Montie Clarissa Reneau Harlan on August 19, 1926.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Carl, Kaye, Wavy and Byrl Harlan and her sisters Alma Harlan and Dean Harlan Lumpkin; two sons Larry Drake and Michael Drake.

She is survived by her son Ronnie Drake (Kay) of Franklin, KY.; grandson Butch Drake (Linda) of Evansville, IN.; granddaughter Rynde Drake Dial (Bill) of Anderson, SC; daughter-in-law Leiah Drake of Bowling Green, KY.; 5 great grandchildren; Jared Drake, Jordon Drake Brown, Jada Drake Matney (Mike), Drake Dial and Kathleen Dial; 5 great-great grandchildren; Abi and Brady Brown, Logan and Kaeleigh Matney and Grayson Drake.

She was retired from Potter & Brumfield and Kroger.  Lila was a long-time volunteer at Greenview Hospital.  Fulfilling a life- long dream, she achieved her GED as a senior citizen.  Lila was an avid card/game player.  She loved to read and to travel.  After she retired, she made beautiful quilts.  She passed her cooking skills and favorite recipes on to her grandchildren.  We will remember fondly “Maw-Maw” and the good times we had.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 9, 2017 until service time at Gilbert Funeral Home.
