Lenda Gale Mock

Mrs. Lenda Gale Mock, age 74, of Franklin, KY returned to her Lord and Savior, surrounded by family, on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Norton Audubon Hospital of Louisville, KY.

 Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM and from 6:00 AM until 2:30 PM on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 2:30 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow in Providence Cemetery located at 7570 Springfield Rd, Franklin, KY 42134.

  Lenda was born in Simpson County, KY on June 15, 1949 to the late Garland Condet Alford and the late Eunice Nebraska (McDonald) Alford. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Coffee.

  She is survived by her spouse of 54 years, William "Bill" Mock; 2 children, Tina Geary (Shawn) of Louisville, KY and William "Bill" Carl Mock (Elizabeth) of Franklin, KY; 4 grandchildren, Keshia Cagle (Jeff), Kasandra Chandler (Barry), Hunter Geary and Brandon Geary; 4 great grandchildren, Amber Flowers, Leighann Cagle, Riley Chandler and Raelynn Chandler; 4 siblings, Larry "Bear" Alford of Portland, TN, Lanny Alford of Franklin, KY, Billy Alford of Albany, KY and Peggy Crafton of Franklin, KY and several nieces and nephews.

 Lenda was a member of Providence Baptist Church and a high school graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School class of 1967. She was a personal caregiver for 30 years, grocery store clerk at Larry and Lanny's Grocery, a housekeeper, and was a missionary worker with Oneida Baptist Institute. She was a Sunday School teacher at Providence Baptist Church and a former member of the Lions Club. Mrs. Mock also enjoyed making floral arrangements, reading and bible study.

  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Providence Baptist Church 7570 Springfield Rd. Franklin, KY 42134 or to the Alzheimer’s Association KY Chapter 2375 Fortune Dr. Lexington, KY 40509. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
