Kenneth Wayne Butt

Mr. Kenneth Wayne Butt, age 82 of Franklin, KY passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 at his residence. 

Kenneth’s wishes were to be cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Mr. Butt was born on December 21, 1941 in Simpson County, KY to the late James Virgil Butt and the late Elsie Mae Gann Butt. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Thorpe Butt; three children, Kent Butt (Candace) of Cross Plains, TN, Kevin Butt (Kathy Cothern) of Franklin, KY, and Kam Butt Collins (Ronnie Bryson) of Franklin, KY; 1 step-daughter, Cathy Angel of Bowling Green, KY ; six grandchildren, Dillon Butt (Katy Yokley), Mackenzie Butt, Caitlyn Butt, Morgan West (Brandon), Mercedes Taylor, and Destiney Bailey; nine great-grandchildren, Harlyn, Presli, Masyn, Taylor, Aalayah, Kensley, Briley, Paisley, and Oakley; two sisters, Barbara Gann of Franklin, KY and Linda Dorris (Charles) of Franklin, KY; and his beloved Australian Shepherd, “Rowdy.”

Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also an avid trim carpenter; he started Butt Construction 45 years ago which he owned and operated with his grandson, Dillon. Kenneth could turn a piece of lumber into fine art and did so up until recently. If you knew Kenneth, then you knew the correct way to sharpen a pencil. He loved his favorite Tennessee Walking horse, “Domino” and taking him to ride and camp in Big South Fork. Kenneth loved his family and will be missed.
