Mr. John Leslie Craddock, age 91, of Franklin, KY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 9:31 am surrounded by his loved ones at the Christian Life Health Care Center in Bowling Green, KY.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of John's life and the many memories he leaves behind. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 303 East Cedar Street in Franklin, KY. Funeral services will be held the same day, Thursday, August 21st at 3:00 PM at the church with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.
John was born on July 9, 1934 in Rowletts, KY to the late William Leslie Craddock and the late Vivian Brooks Craddock. He is also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Tommy Dennard, Jay Atkerson and Roy Reeder.
John lived a life marked by kindness, hard work and dedication to family and friends. He was known for his deep faith, civic duty and dynamic personality. Beyond his career, John had a deep passion for singing in the church choir, serving his community on the Franklin Electric Plant Board and City Commission, which brought joy to those around him.
John's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Peggy (Long) Craddock; two sons, Stephen Craddock (Neva) of Ackworth, GA and Wesley Craddock (Kelly) of Cave Creek, AZ; six grandchildren, Jason Craddock, Kelly Kelley, Brittany Henderson, Cameron Kelly, Dane Silva, Brianna Kicklighter; ten great-grandchildren; four sisters, Caroline Atkerson of Franklin, KY, Rebecca "Becky" Dennard of Franklin, KY, Janice Reeder of Indianapolis, IN and Betty Sue Gardner (Richard) of Hawkinsville, GA; and many nieces and nephews. His faith, love, wisdom and sense of humor will remain with all who had the privilege of knowing him.
John will be remembered for his generosity, his unwavering faith, and his ability to make others feel valued. His legacy of love and strength will continue to live on through his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to First Baptist Church, 303 East Cedar Street, Franklin, KY. 42134. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
