Mr. Jimmy Ross Boyd, age 77 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.
Arrangements are under the direction of Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY. Military honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard.
A native of Simpson Co., KY., he was the son of the late Robert Ewing Boyd and the late Dora Pearl Eldridge Boyd. He was preceded in death by a sister Betty Edwards, 4 brothers Bobby, Houston, Gilbert and Willie Boyd.
He is survived by a daughter Betsy Ross Kennedy of Franklin, KY., 2 brothers Jackie Boyd of Franklin, IN. and Larry Boyd of Portland, TN.; 3 grandchildren Thomas, Robert and Anika Kennedy; 2 great grandchildren Dayton Combs and Christian Combs and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Boyd was a member of the Woodburn Church of Christ. He was a retired employee of Kentucky Stone and Hanson companies and an Army veteran. He was a loving father and grandfather.Visitation will begin Friday, January 29, 2016 at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Saturday at 6:00 AM until funeral service time at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home.
