Jerry Wayne Goodrum, Sr.

Jerry Wayne Goodrum, Sr., a beloved resident of Franklin, KY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, at the age of 74 at Creekwood Nursing & Rehabilitation in Russellville, KY. Born on Wednesday, August 29th, 1951, in Franklin, KY, Jerry was a lifelong member of the community he cherished deeply.

Jerry was a proud graduate of Franklin Simpson High School, class of 1969. Following his education, he dedicated his life to working. He opened a family business, Goodrum Pallet. His commitment to hard work and dedication to his work was evident to all who knew him.

Jerry honorably served in the United States Air Force, demonstrating his patriotism and love for his country. Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Jerry's heart was deeply rooted in his faith, participating in the Emmaus Walk and being an active member of the Round Pond Church community.

Jerry was an avid fan of UK Basketball and enjoyed spending time eating at the Hot Plate, a local favorite. His presence was a constant source of joy and laughter, and he will be remembered for his warm spirit and unwavering kindness.

Jerry is survived by his three devoted sons: Wayne Goodrum (Tammy), Brent Goodrum (Angie), and Leslie Goodrum (Ashlie), all of Franklin, KY. He was a cherished grandfather to Bo Goodrum (Stephanie), Ben Goodrum (Michaela), Brady Goodrum (Camryn), Zander Goodrum, Azhley Gill, Lane Goodrum, Garrett Goodrum, and Emma Claire Goodrum. His legacy extends to his six great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Charlotte, Jeremiah, Josie, Micah, and Brewer. Jerry is also survived by his loving sisters, Wanda Hale and Connie Farmer (Steve), and sisters-in-law, Jane Carter and Scottie Meador.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debbie Goodrum; his parents, Joe and Lila (Gomer) Goodrum; his infant brother, Larry Goodrum; and his brother, Tony Goodrum.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Gilbert Funeral Home in Franklin, KY, on Monday, August 10th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Tuesday, August 11th, 2026, from 6:00 am to 11:00 am. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 11th at 11:00 am at the funeral home with interment to follow in Round Pond Church Cemetery in Simpson County, KY. Pallbearers will be Bo Goodrum, Ben Goodrum, Brady Goodrum, Zander Goodrum, Lane Goodrum, and Garrett Goodrum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Round Pond Church, 250 Round Pond Church Road, Franklin, KY 42134, in Jerry's memory. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
