Jean Massey Wakefield

Mrs. Jean Massey Wakefield, age 84 of Franklin, KY, entered into rest Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 8:30 PM at her residence.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home.  Mrs. Wakefield wishes were to be cremated. Graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.

Mrs. Wakefield was born April 1, 1933 to the late Silas Lain “Sikes” Massey and the late Winnie Fountain Tisdale Massey.  She was the wife of the late Frank Hudson Wakefield.  She was preceded in death by a step granddaughter Kate Coates Jones.

She is survived by 2 sons Frank Hudson Wakefield, II of Franklin, KY and Silas Matthew Wakefield (Donna) of Franklin, KY, 4 grandchildren, 1-step grandchild and 2 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren and 1 niece and 2 nephews.

Mrs. Wakefield was a member of the Christian Church in Tucson, AZ.  She was a teacher at Prospect Hill School in Simpson Co., KY. She was a graduate of Stephens College and WKU. She held her private pilots license and amateur radio license.
