James William "Jim" Alford

Mr. James William “Jim” Alford, age 77 of Bowling Green, KY., entered into rest Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 12:55 PM at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2017 with burial to follow in the Whites Chapel Church Cemetery in Drake, KY.

A native of Simpson Co., KY. he was the son of the late Willard Alford and Carrie Perry Alford.  A sister Willa Dean Graves preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Eddie May Alford, 2 sons David Alford (Cindy) and Kevin Alford (Susan) all of Bowling Green, KY, 2 sisters Betty Turner of Franklin, KY. and Jearline Scott of Bowling Green, KY., a brother Joe Alford of Bowling Green, KY., 4 grandchildren Lance Alford (Sherry), Christina Alford (Evan), Ashley Alford and Austin Alford, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and friends whom loved him dearly.

Mr. Alford was a member of the Martha’s Chapel Church and attended the Whites Chapel Church.  He retired from Eaton-Cutler Hammer after 34 years and work with the State Highway Department for 4 years.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, January 9 2016 and from 6:00 AM until funeral service time on Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
