James Daniel "Danny" Link

James Daniel “Danny” Link, born December 7, 1950, of Franklin, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at 9:20 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026 at the Green Acres Nursing Facility in Mayfield, KY.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Friday, February 13, 2026 at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral service will be held Friday, at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Restlawn Memory Gardens in Simpson Co., KY.

Danny was a simple man who found his greatest joy in the people and things he loved most—his family and his faithful dog, Bo. He was one of twelve siblings and grew up valuing hard work, loyalty, and strong family ties. Danny will be remembered for his quiet nature, kind heart, and the steady presence he was to those who knew him.

He is survived by his siblings: Bobbie Vanatta (Ronnie), Loyal Gann, Elbia Link (Judy), Kay McKay (Tyrone), Earl Link (Vivian), and Tommy Link.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Eva Link, and his siblings: Bettye Penrod, Alice Wells, Linda Creasy, Ellis Link, and Nancye Key.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Green Acres Health Care in Mayfield, Kentucky, and Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Danny’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were blessed to know him.
