Isaac Wyatt Shields

Mr. Isaac Wyatt Shields, age 21 of Auburn, KY passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Visitation will continue on Friday, November 10, from 6:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 10th, at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  The family has chosen cremation after the service.

Wyatt was born on March 6, 2002 in Bowling Green, KY to his parents, Melissa Herrington and Nathan Shields.

He is survived by his mother, Melissa Herrington (Buddy) of Auburn, KY; father, Nathan Shields (Lori) of Glasgow, KY; son, Paxton Shields of Franklin, KY; siblings, Peyton Whiles of Franklin, KY, Madison Herrington of Franklin, KY, Courtney Biggs (Alex) of Bowling Green, KY, Garett Shields of Glasgow, KY; maternal grandparents, Sue Peay (Matt) of Scottsville, KY and Bobby Nelson Pedigo of Holland, KY; paternal grandparents, Frankie Shields of Glasgow, KY and Marlene Rourke (Tom) of Bowling Green, KY; special brother, Nate Mitchell of Franklin, KY; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a niece.

Wyatt was a 2020 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School.  He was a member of the FSHS Soccer Team.  Wyatt member of Temple Hill Baptist Church.  He enjoyed playing X-Box, Call of Duty, participating in demolition-derbies and going fishing and hunting.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory for Wyatt’s funeral expenses and for his son, Paxton’s, future care and education.  Donations may be made by Venmo to @gilbertfuneralhome.  Please indicate in memory of Wyatt Shields.  Donations can also be dropped off to the funeral home or mailed in to 325 West Cedar Street, Franklin, KY 42134.
