Mr. Otho Haskel Bush age 87, of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Tuesday, July 04, 2017 at 3:50 AM at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 7, 2017 with burial to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors by the Simpson County Honor Guard.

Mr. Bush was born September 24, 1929 to the late Otho Bush and the late Edna Gann Bush.  He was the husband of the late Betty Lou Bush.  He was preceded in death by 4 half brothers Grover Adamson, Wesley and D.B. Williams and Powell Bush and 4 half sisters Daisy Ellis, Esther Harris, Pearl Morton and Dorothy Hall.

He is survived by his children Leann Carr of Indianapolis, IN., Jack Bush (Tanya) of Bowling Green, KY. and Alan Bush (Melissa) of Franklin, KY., 6 grandchildren James “Jimmy” Bush, Angel Lloyd, Jarrod, Zachary, Austin and Cassie Bush and 3 great grandchildren Sydney O'Connor, Tyler and Rylan Bush.

Mr. Bush was a member of the Bethany Church of Christ.  He was a graduate Franklin-Simpson High School class of 1949, voted most athletic male and played football, basketball and baseball.  He was a Korean War Veteran (1951 – 1952) 101st Airborne Division, stationed in Germany.  He worked as forklift driver for Detroit Diesel Allison for 31 years and had rental properties and a vending machine route.  He had a farm in Indianapolis, IN. and maintained the family cattle farm in Franklin, KY., raising Hereford cattle for many years and worked the election polls.  Semi-retired in 1982 he started a successful business named Bush Steel Products which manufactured and installed basketball goals, playground equipment, and clothesline post and flag poles in Indianapolis, IN.  During the winter, he traveled to a Daytona Beach, FL where he spent time fishing and square dancing.   He loved to garden, cowboy movies, tractor shows, country western songs and eat his favorite meal – T-bone steak and baked potato.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, July 6, 2017 and from 6:00 AM until service time on Friday at Gilbert Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Bethany Church of Christ or to the Potter’s Children Home.
