Harold Glendale Goins

Mr. Harold Goins, age 97, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory.  Visitation will continue on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM with interment to follow in Hart Cemetery in Robertson County, TN.

Harold was born on January 26, 1926 in Longmont, CO to the late Oscar Goins and the late Doreen Greenough Goins. He is also preceded in death a brother, Jerry Dean Goins and a sister, Ethel Marie Goins.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Patsy (Anderson) Goins; 4 children, Steve Goins (Sherry) of Portland, TN, Phyllis Dorris of Gallatin, TN, Karla Blair (James) of Portland, TN and Kristy Smitty (Eddie) of Murfreesboro, TN; 6 grandchildren, Steven Brent Goins, Haley Tucker, Shasta Draper, Shane Smitty, Shaun Smitty and Dylan Smitty; 9 great-grandchildren, Allison Goins, Sarah Goins, Caylee Draper, Gracie Smitty, Harleigh Smitty, Zaylan Smitty, Parker Davis, Skylar Yeagar, Caden Yeagar; 3 sisters, Betty Jo Eldridge of Orlinda, TN, Barbara Albright of Indianapolis, IN and Lois Jones (Richard) of Atlanta, GA; 3 nieces, Laketa Williams, Pam Zendt and Arloa Eldridge; 2 nephews, Barry Rigsbee and Trevor Albright.

Harold was a member of Bethany Church of Christ in Orlinda, TN.  He was retired from the Kendall Company and also farmed and milked a lot of cows.  Harold enjoyed reading, bird watching, cutting wood and walking.
