Gwendolyn Anita Russell

Gwendolyn Anita Russell, born on Saturday, June 15th, 1946, in Franton, Indiana, peacefully passed away on, Wednesday, August 5th, 2026 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. A long-time resident of Franklin, KY, Gwendolyn lived a life filled with warmth and resilience.

A dedicated laborer, Gwendolyn served diligently for 25 years at The Lenk Company, later known as The Drackett Company, earning the respect of her colleagues. Her unwavering commitment to her work mirrored the dedication she displayed in every aspect of her life.

Gwendolyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved eating and listening to karaoke music, rummaging through yard sales, and enjoying catfish on Fridays at the VFW and Legion, organizations she proudly served through the Ladies Auxiliary. Her community on Rolling Road Drive held a special place in her heart, as its residents always looked out for her and kept her safe.

Beloved mother and grandmother, Gwendolyn is survived by her daughter, Teresa Mayeur (Greg) of Franklin, KY; five grandchildren, Chris Graves, Wes Graves (Tori), Gavin Mayeur, Ashley Arnold (Jacob), and Brittany Cogburn (Matt); and 13 cherished great-grandchildren, Caiden, Kabrie, Kennedy, Cam, Beckham, Mack, Ava, Addy, Ella, Carley, Brea, Brantley, and Tate. Each of them was a joy in her life, and her memories will continue to bring them comfort.

She joins in heaven her father, Ralph Waymire; her mother, Rommie Ezell (Pirtle) Grant; her loving spouse, Howard Russell; and her son, Gary White.

Family and friends are invited to gather and remember Gwendolyn during the visitation on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, at Gilbert Funeral Home in Franklin, KY. The VFW Auxillary and the Legion Ladies Auxillary will hold a ceremony on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM with funeral services following, where pallbearers Chris Graves, Wes Graves, Gavin Mayeur, Jacob Arnold, Matt Cogburn, and Caiden Graves will accompany her on her final journey. Honorary pallbearers include Brantley Cogburn, Cam Graves, Beckham Graves, Mack Graves, and Tate Cogburn. Interment will follow the funeral service in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY.
