Emily Stark Mayes

Mrs. Emily Stark Mayes, age 94 of Franklin, KY, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:30 PM at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Mrs. Mayes was born October 21, 1923 in Franklin, KY to the late Charlie Conn Stark and the late Janie Marguerite Smylie Stark of Franklin, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Browning Mayes of Franklin, a granddaughter Tracy Bley, 2 sisters Mary Jane Moody and Marguerite McCaskill, 2 brothers Smylie Conn Stark and Charles Baird Stark.

She is survived by her 4 daughters Marcia Lin Weaver and husband Patrick of Germantown, TN, Diane Mayes Shutt and Barbara Shaw Shriver both of Franklin, KY and Marguerite Mayes Dallas and husband Anthony of Portland, TN; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home.  A Memorial service will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Franklin Presbyterian Church in Franklin, KY.
