Elaine Hanley

Elaine Hanley, a cherished member of the Franklin community, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26th, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on Friday, October 1st, 1948, in Franklin, KY,

A devoted mother, She is survived by her six loving children: Terrie Switzer of Russellville, KY, Lisa Carter (Greg) of Bowling Green, KY, James Byrum (Con) of Franklin, KY, Mark Byrum (Danielle) of Franklin, KY, Eric Hanley (Jen) of Bowling Green, KY, and Tressa Pascual (Jeremy) of Panama City Beach, FL. Her legacy also includes nine grandchildren—Joe Law, Amanda Grace, Bailey Clinnard, Ashley Byrum, Ty Byrum, Ben Byrum, Autumn Pascual, London Pascual, and Reagan Pascual—and nine great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. Brenda is also survived by her sister, Diana Fuqua of Franklin, KY.

Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Robert Stinson; her mother, Hassie Eldridge Stinson; and her brother, Jackie Hughes.

Elaine was a dedicated entrepreneur, having been self-employed at New to You Consignment, where she shared her passion for quality and creativity. Her vibrant spirit was evident in her active participation in church activities and her love for sewing, crafts, and gardening. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.

Funeral services will be held at Gilbert Funeral Home in Franklin, KY, on Thursday, July 30th, 2026, at 2:00 pm with burial to follow in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery of Simpson Co., KY.  Visitation will take place at the same location on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Thursday, July 30th, from 6:00 am until the time of the service. Pallbearers will include Ty Byrum, Ben Byrum, Caleb Grace, Zander Goodnight, JT Blakemore, and Allen Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 2944 Rapids Road, Franklin, KY 42134. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home, honoring Brenda's deep faith
