Don Pinson

Mr. Don Pinson, age 80, of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 4:32 PM at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 5, 2017 with burial to follow in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Simpson Co., KY.

A native of Simpson Co., KY., he was the son of the late Sterling Clennon Pinson and the late Marie Ashabraner Pinson.  3 brothers and 4 sisters preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Lela Pinson, 4 children Marx D. Pinson (Linda), Joni Pinson and Phillip Pinson all of Franklin, KY. and Jeff Pinson (Lisa) of Franklin, TN., 2 brothers Paul and Bob Pinson both of Franklin, KY., a sister Margie Seng of Franklin, KY, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Mr. Pinson was a member of the Providence Baptist Church and he was a Kentucky Colonel.  Mr. Pinson retired from the KY. State Highway Department, he also had owned Pinson Backhoe and Bulldozer, served as a Franklin Police Officer and a farmer.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM Saturday, March 4, 2017 and from 6:00 AM until service time on Sunday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
