Debra Yolanda Massey, a devoted family woman, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12th, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on a chilly Monday, December 24th, 1956, in Nashville, TN, Debra brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.

A dedicated Deputy Jailer at the Simpson County Jail, Debra was known for her unwavering commitment and service to her community. Her colleagues and friends will remember her as a compassionate and reliable presence who touched many lives through her work.

Debra cherished her time spent shopping and found immense joy tending to her rose bushes, a passion that reflected her nurturing spirit.

She is survived by her two loving sons, Ronald Kevin Lamont Massey and Dion Massey, both of Franklin, KY. Debra is also survived by her mother, Peggy Adkerson, Her sisters, Brenda Joyce Carter of Nashville, TN, and her dear cousins, Delphine Whitaker "Sister Cousin" of Madison, TN, and LaCarlos Hall of Gallatin, TN, will fondly remember her kindness and warmth. Debra leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her father, Edward William Carter, and her two sisters, Gloria Ann Carter and Myrtle Alberta Carter and her brother, Edward William Carter, Jr. Debra's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

In accordance with Debra's wishes, she will be cremated, and no formal services will be held.
