David Ray "Rooster" McCormick

David Ray "Rooster" McCormick of Scottsville, KY, departed this life on Sunday, May 24th, 2026, at the age of 68. He was born on Saturday, June 22nd, 1957, in Logan County, Kentucky.

David is survived by his family, including siblings, Kenneth McCormick of Bowling Green, KY, Ronnie McCormick of Franklin, KY, and Sherry Byrd of Franklin, KY, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ester McCormick and Willie Mae (Warren) McCormick.

To honor David’s life, a funeral service is scheduled to take place at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory in Franklin, KY, on Friday, May 29th, 2026, at 1:00 pm with interment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY. Friends and family are welcome to gather at a visitation on Thursday, May 28th, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Friday, May 29th, 2026, from 6:00 am until the start of the service at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
