March 11, 1947 — October 5, 2010
Mr. James David “Dave” Butt, age 63 of Franklin, KY., entered into rest Tuesday, October 5, 2010 4:51 P.M. at his residence.
A native of Franklin, KY., he was the son of the late Walter Maynard Butt and the late Evelyn Mable Holloway Butt. He was preceded in death by a sister Alice Britt Caldwell.
He is survived by his wife Diane Spellings Butt, a daughter Beth Ann Wilson and husband Kyle of Franklin, KY. and 2 sons: Russell “Rusty” Helms and wife Amber of Tulsa, OK. and Brian Butt and wife Beth of Bowling Green, KY.; a sister Lou Ellen Munday husband Phillip and a brother Steve Butt and wife Jamie all of Franklin, KY.; 4 grandchildren: Craig Helms, Josh Helms, Mattie Butt and Kara Wilson; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Butt was a superindent of the Waste & Water Treatment Facility for 18 years employed by the City of Franklin, a Vietnam veteran serving with the U.S. Air Force and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a past board member of the Renaissance, currently serving as a member of the Franklin-Simpson Arts Council and a member of the Simpson County Vietnam Veterans.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Simpson County Honor Guard.
